I spent over 25 years in education before AI changed everything. As a teacher, instructional designer, and eventually SAIT's AI Project Lead, I watched technology transform classrooms and workplaces — sometimes for the better, sometimes not.
What I kept seeing was a gap: tools moving faster than people's ability to use them well. Organisations adopting AI without strategy. Educators uncertain how to respond. Leaders making decisions without understanding what they're actually deciding.
That's the gap I work in. My job is to help people — educators, government teams, and business leaders — understand AI clearly, adopt it responsibly, and use it in ways that actually improve their work. Not as a gimmick. Not as a productivity hack. As a genuine tool for better thinking and better outcomes.
