A great computer – can it be improved?
The Mac Mini M4 is one of they most impressive new computers I’ve seen in a long time.
With a very friendly price, but amazing power and convenience – I sometimes think that the Mac Mini M4 is as close to perfect as it gets. Except, there are a “few” ways that I think the experience of using it can be improved.
Limitations
- Ports. The Mac Mini M4 has plenty of ports – but not all the ones I need. For example, I still have a lot of USB-2 Devices.
- Hard Drive space. Unless you pay a premium, you will find the smaller internal hard drive fills up very quickly.
- Camera. This isn’t an iMac and you have to bring your own monitor and mouse, but you also need to bring your own camera.
- Speakers. I was surprized by the quality of the speaker in the Mac Mini M4, but having a better set of speakers is a big way to improve the experience.
- Windows Programs. The debate between the best OS (Mac vs. Windows) doesn’t mean much if you need to run Windows-only Applicatons or Applications that run more on Windows. In my case, Business Intelligence Programs.
Solutions:
To solve these problems, I have found some very useful solutions – mostly centered around a special Hub that expands ports and storage.
